Founding Story

LKN Foundation was established with the vision of bridging the gap in lymphoedema self-care. Our founders, driven by compassion and a desire to make a difference, initiated this noble cause to support individuals affected by Lymphatic Filariasis and Podoconiosis related lymphoedema.

Jan is a Consultant in Lymphoedema Management with 25-years clinical and research experience spanning multiple aetiologies and resource settings. Her work with people affected by lymphatic filariasis- and podoconiosis-related lymphoedema has influenced the delivery of national programs in several countries.

Patricia Graves

Patricia Graves

Tricia is a technical consultant and scientist dedicated to the improved prevention and control of tropical diseases and alleviation of their chronic effects using the best evidence.

She divides her time between academic research, advisory roles on policy, and evaluation of implementation programmes.

Marielle Esplin

Foundation Secretary

Marielle, a healthcare researcher with 25 years of experience in lymphoedema and a background in occupational therapy, advocates holistic healthcare. She excels in clinical trials, non-profit work, and wellness programs, focusing on diverse individual needs. Marielle also contributes to grants, governance, and fundraising for the foundation, dedicated to improving healthcare and fostering compassion.

Jasper Hughes

Foundation IT Manager

Jasper keeps the cogs running for the IT side of the foundation. He has experience in software development and infrastructure management and manages the website, donation portal and helps create the material used in our teaching aids.
