World NTD Day - January 30
Translating awareness into action
Neglected tropical diseases are diseases of inequity. Therefore addressing NTDs directly contributes to universal health care, strengthening health systems by increasing access to hard-to-reach people and training community health workers.
Lymphoedema is a common, life-altering consequence of several NTD’s, bringing pain, stigma and social exclusion for millions.
Translating Knowledge into Impact: LKN Foundation exists to translate evidence-based lymphoedema management knowledge into accessible, culturally appropriate education for communities around the world. We focus on:
Education that empowers individuals and carers
Sustainable self-care approaches
Sharing knowledge across borders to reduce stigma and disability
By building a global knowledge network, we help communities manage lymphoedema with dignity and confidence.
LKN provides a conduit for knowledge gained from lymphoedema management in strong economies like Australia, into neglected communities affected by NTDs. Your support will keep this channel open and the information flowing.
On World NTD Day, share the LKN story and make changing the life of someone with lymphoedema a part of your story.
